Playing outside is an essential part of your child’s development. Physical activities are very useful for mental development. Exercise is crucial to our well-being, if a child or an adult. Keeping your child healthy in a pre school in Ireland requires using preventative means to ensure your child against disease from other preschoolers. Some children may not have symptoms when parents drop the child off at the preschool, allowing them to unknowingly infect other students. An environment not cleaned daily may also pose a risk for illness in your preschooler.

Visit several pre schools in Ireland before choosing one. Inquire on how often the room is cleaned and disinfected for germs.

Feed your preschooler fruits and vegetables to boost his immune system against viruses introduced into the pre school atmosphere.

Activities:

Geography: The story takes place in Madrid, Spain. Familiarize your child with a map of the world or a globe. Show your child where Spain is on the map and then have the child pick out the country and the city. Look up the Spain’s flag, size of country and population. You may want to introduce your child to some Spanish words and food.

Nature Study: Ferdinand loves to sit under a cork tree and smell the flowers. Check out a book from the library or use the internet to explore flowers. Visit a garden or the garden area of a home improvement store to show your children flowers in person and hopefully smell some and decide which they like the best.

What is a letter of intent?

Simply, the letter of intent is exactly how it sounds. The letter informs the superintendent of your choice to either remove your child from the school system or not enter the child in the school system for the purpose of homeschooling. Please check your state laws regarding the format of the letter or if a standard form is the preferred method.

What is normally in a letter of intent?

The child’s full legal name, date of birth and legal address

Subjects and list of books used in the course of study during the school year

Child’s grade

A simple statement that you intend to homeschool your child during the school year.

Again, check your state laws as in my state it is not required to give a child’s grade or a list of specific materials used during the year.

So what does this mean? Well, it means racism is alive and well much to the dismay of many. It means a girl of 13 must live in a very hateful home to make such a comment. It also means that this poor African American girl has no idea how little a few team players feel about her or worse she does. In addition, it means my daughter just had firsthand experience that racism is not in the history books. While I love for my children to experience things firsthand this is one experience I could have lived without. Yet, I do not intend to shelter so if this is what is out there then bring it so we know how to face it.

You may be asking yourself what type of team consists of such a racist child and if the racist feelings exist beyond this one isolated incidence.
