Holmes seventh-grader wins at national competitions
It’s been a busy fall for Nathan Ley, a seventh grade student at Holmes Middle School in Colorado Springs School District 11.The seventh-grader placed second in his age group at the USA Triathlon National Youth Championships in San Diego, Calif., in September. Nathan was two seconds behind the first-place finisher.In early October, he placed second in his age group at the Ironkids National Championship in St. Petersburg, Fla.Nathan also excels in the classroom: He is an honor student and ended last year with a 4.0 grade average. He was named Holmes Middle School student of the month for October.
